Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ & S20 Ultra In-depth Review

The Mobile phone giant player Samsung unveiled its new series of 2020 flagship Galaxy S phones — Galaxy S20, S20+ & S20 Ultra, at its Galaxy Unpacked event organized on 11 February 2020. These new phones are priced at $999 (In Rupees 73,000) , $1199 (In Rupees 87,500) and $1399 (In Rupees 102,000) respectively.

All the three variants come with a 120 Hz refresh rate display, starting with an 8 GB of RAM & goes up to 16 GB, comes with triple & quad cameras and supports up to 8K video recording. The phones will be available in the market from March 6. This Galaxy S20 series will be launched in India soon.

All the three Galaxy phones— S20, S20+ & S20 Ultra will be packed with a 7 nm 64-bit octa-core processor. Galaxy S20 series will come with two processor variants, one powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor while the other with Exynos 990.

In India, Samsung is expected to come with Exynos 990 variant. All three models will run on Android 10 based One UI with a similar interface. There is IP68 dust and water protection on these three models, with the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, reverse charging & face recognition.

Coming to the 8K video recording feature, all the three models can shoot 8K video continuously, however, the files will save in batches of 4 GB each while maintaining continuity. These videos can be uploaded to the Google YouTube application. Screenshots can be taken from 8K videos, the image will be of 33 MP.

There is a unique feature called Space Zoom, which lets you zoom into high-resolution pictures & crop, a new photo will be generated from the base photo. Samsung phone will come with improved super steady mode for capturing pictures and videos along with new camera features like night hyper-lapse.

For TikTok shooters, there is a unique feature called Single Take which creates a 10-sec video using a variety of available lens. With the fresh feature called Quick Share which lets you share content between two Galaxy phones in close proximity.

All the three Galaxy S20 phones will come with a punch-hole camera in the top center area which Samsung uses to say the Infinity-O display.

Display:

Samsung Galaxy S20 comes with a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120 Hz frequency rate & has a pixel density of 563 PPI. 60 Hz frequency rate is for Quad HD+ & 120 HZ for Full HD+ resolution. Samsung has confirmed that there will not be any noticeable change in battery life if the phone is set with a 120 Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate configuration is similar to all three variants.

RAM & ROM:

Samsung Galaxy S20 comes with two RAM options, 8GB and 12GB & both the variants come with 128GB of internal storage and support up to 1TB micro SD cards.

Camera:

Galaxy S20 comes with a triple camera setup at the back while the Galaxy S20+ and S20 Ultra come with quad cameras arrangement. The triple camera setup in the Galaxy S20 consists of 64 MP Primary sensors with F 2.0 aperture, 12MP Wide-angle with F 1.8 aperture and 12MP ultra-wide with F2.2 aperture. There is a 3X hybrid optical zoom and digital zoom of up to 30X. Front, is a selfie camera of 10MP with F2.2 aperture.

Battery:

The Galaxy S20 is housed with a 4,000 mAh battery & 25W fast charging support. Samsung phone is bundled with a 25W charger inside the box along with USB Type-C earphones.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 will be available in the following color
1) Grey
2) Blue and
3) Pink

Opinion:

So it is clear that Samsung S20 is clearly one of the true flagship phone. Samsung has maintained its momentum in the Flagship field. It will set a new path to Samsung, that will go a long way. It has set a very high benchmark in the flagship phone category, which will give a big challenge to its peer companies to compete with Samsung in the Flagship field.

The Samsung Galaxy S20+ comes with a screen size of 6.7 inch (17.02 cm) Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, supports up to 120 Hz refresh rate with the display has pixel density of 525 PPI.
This device comes with two RAM & ROM variants options, 8 GB | 128 GB & 12 GB | 512 GB. Both these variants support up to 1 TB micro SD cards.

Camera:

Unlike to Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung Galaxy S20+ comes with a quad-camera system at the back The quad-camera setup in the Galaxy S20+ includes 64 MP Primary camera with F 2.0 aperture, 12MP Wide-angle camera with F 1.8 aperture.

Another 12 MP for ultra-wide angle with F 2.2 aperture and a Depth sensor.
Samsung Galaxy S 20+ comes with a 3X hybrid optical zoom and 30X digital zoom. On the front, there is a selfie camera of 10 MP with F 2.2 aperture.

Battery:

It houses the Galaxy S20 with a 4,500 mAh battery & 25W fast charging support. Samsung is providing a 25W charger inside the box along with USB Type-C earphones. This phone also will be available in Grey, Blue & Pink colors.

Display:

This is the highest feature riched phone among all three Galaxy S 20 series phones. The Galaxy S20 Ultra has the biggest display. The Samsung Galaxy S 20 Ultra comes with a 6.9 inch (17.53 cm) Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X mega-size display with up to 120 Hz refresh rate & has a pixel density of 511 PPI.

RAM & ROM:

The S20 Ultra is available in two versions 12 GB RAM | 256 GB ROM & 16 GB RAM | 256 GB RO. Both the two variants support up to 1 TB micro SD card.

Camera:

Similar to S20+, S20 Ultra comes with a quad-camera configuration. The quad-camera setup comprises 108 MP primary sensor with F3.5 aperture, 48 MP Wide-angle with F1.8 aperture, 12MP ultra-wide with F2.2 aperture and a depth sensor. This phone supports 10X hybrid optical zoom and 100X digital zoom. Front comes with a selfie camera of 40 MP aperture of F 2.2.

Battery:

The Galaxy S20 ultra is powered with 5,000mAh battery & 45 W fast charging support. This phone comes with a 25 W charger inside the box along with USB Type-C earphones. Unlike the other two variants, this phone will be available only in Grey and Black colors.
